Hi, because my wife and I applied for an ITIN to file taxes jointly, and the ITIN processing will take awhile and so I cannot obtain my 2024 Tax Transcript...

What should I do? Should I upload 2021, 2022, 2023 Transcripts instead? And should I write a brief letter to NVC as to why they won't be able to obtain my 2024 Tax Transcript? And for i864, Part 6, 16a-16c, should I exclude 2024 but include 2021 total income? If this is the case, then will NVC look for more proof of income for 2021? Since I won't have any paychecks available from 2021.

For the 2024 Tax Return, I've already uploaded the 2024 1040, Schedule C, 1, 2, SE, every monthly paycheck and bank statements for all of 2024, and all the 1099s to the NVC webpage.

Include copies of any W2’s/1099’s you have for the 2024 tax year with the copy of your return that you uploaded.  She can take take copies of your previous transcripts with her to the interview in case they ask for them.

Good Luck!

Well, my experience on this was the following.  I went ahead and filed my tax return married filing joint and entered all 9's for my spouse social security number, (while we applied for an ITIN which actually took a year and a half to get from the IRS.)  I had to file 2 years of taxes using all 9's for my spouse social security and both years the IRS processed them and uploaded my transcripts to their page which I was able to use for my  I864.  Once we obtained the ITIN I did amended returns using the ITIN and after my spouse arrived in the US and received their social security number, I once again did amended returns for those two years.

OP has already applied for an ITIN so won’t have transcripts for about 5-6 months. Solution here is the 1040 plus W-2/1099s.

Thanks everyone!

Would it be safer to include income information for 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024? Or would just 2022-2204 suffice?
I have tax transcripts from 2021-2023, not 2022-2024.

There is no need to include anything more than the three years asked for. Even the 2022/2023 dint require transcripts.

In your case I think there’s a decent argument to upload the 2022/2023 transcripts to show income was consistent with when you filed single, but it’s not required by any means. I wouldn’t upload 2021.
