Actually, it really doesn't. I love jersey. And I'm glad they are doing something, because most of the places every one else lives has a ton of criminals and sexual predators too.

I dunno - I drove to Pennsylvania not so long ago - I didn't find it that bad. NJ has two problems (especially in the region around where I live).

1) People's driving skills are not great (non-existent turn signals / pulling out of side streets without even a glance in the other direction).

2) There are few cops enforcing the traffic laws to make them much of a deterrent.

3) Leading on from 2), some of the cars on the roads really aren't in a condition to be on public roads.

4) The road planning in NJ is atrocious.

The road planning specifically makes things potentially dangerous. IMO it makes people drive aggressively - for instance: undertaking on single-lane roads, sometimes for no purpose whatsoever.

If they would just lock them up though. I bet a lot are let go or put on "probation" so they are allowed to offend again.
