I got my US citizenship after my child was born, so I couldn't pass it as Consular report of birth abroad.
as per my lawyer's instruction, I have to file I-130 and their interview is scheduled at Montreal.
so now my question is will she get GC and wait to get Citizenship or she should be eligible for US passport and get naturalized after the interview.
if anybody went through this process can you please explain.

How old is your child, where are you both now, and how did you get your citizenship?

2.5 yrs, I am in US currently she is in Canada. I am a naturalized citizen.

So you didn't petition her when you were a green card holder?

It sounds like she will become a citizen, but you can double check that here - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/travel-legal-considerations/us-citizenship/child-citizenship-act-of-2000.html

Good luck.

Just curious, how did you naturalize without being a green card holder?

Two situations I can think of are (1) nationals of American Samoa or Swains Island, and (2) Military service under 329 of the INA.

INA 329 is rare of late. American Somoa naturalization is becoming common because without it they are restricted in what they can do when they move to the mainland, especially working in govt.

Will be interested to hear from op how they obtained theirs.
