Hi all, I am confused on this matter. A paralegal I have worked with is telling me that I need to sign the affidavit of support, and ship it by mail. However, I am reading online that I can just sign it, scan it and my fiance can then just print it out. Anyone have an idea?

1) I wouldn't recommend working with paralegals. They often don't know what they're doing. Either learn everything yourself or hire a proper lawyer

2) Yes, scanned copy is OK, as long as it was signed by actual pen, not digitally.

Validity of Signatures. USCIS will consider a photocopied, faxed, or scanned copy of an original handwritten signature as valid for filing purposes. The photocopy, fax, or scan must be of the original document containing the handwritten ink signature

Yes, scanned copy of handwritten signature is fine. We did exactly that, no mailing involved.

I would also suggest you drop the paralegal. They have already demonstrated they don't know even simple details of this process.
