Interview notice for both I-751 and N-400 - common?

Hi! I filed for my I-751 in February 2024, and for my N-400 in April 2025. I just got an interview notice for both applications.

 

Is this common? I assumed my I-751 would need to be approved and completed before any activity happened for my N-400. Didn't know if anybody had similar experience?

It's very common and in fact filing the N-400 while I-751 is pending is often what gets a slow I-751 process moving because the I-751 has to be approved in order to adjudicate the N-400

Extremely common.  Go prepared for both interviews.  Wife and I had a combo interview in Dec 2022.

Senior Master Sergeant, US Air Force- Retired (after 20+ years)- Missile Systems Maintenance & Titan 2 ICBM Launch Crew Duty (200+ Alert tours)

Registered Nurse- Retired- I practiced in the areas of Labor & Delivery, Home Health, Adolescent Psych, & Adult Psych.

IT Professional- Retired- Web Site Design, Hardware Maintenance, Compound Pharmacy Software Trainer, On-site go live support, Database Manager, App Designer.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

As @Crazy Cat said, get prepared.  Make sure you take your spouse with you to the interview.  I suggest the US Citizenship Test 2025 app to cover off the N-400 knowledge requirement.
