Amazing to see all you getting your interviews scheduled. Is the timeline different for parents when compared to spouse? I just sent my parents I-485 today and had filed I130 online last week.

Shouldn't be... Both are immediate relatives of US citizen.

However, each case is individual. Plus USCIS is known to shift priorities.

You can see there's many who filed in October and November of 2024 still waiting for their interviews.

I'd be ready for 1 year of processing time.

If it's faster - great.

Can you post a screenshot? Maybe we're on the wrong page or something. Either way, we haven't heard anything yet with interview date or employment authorization.

Did you set up your my.uscis.gov account with an online access code that USCIS mailed to you?

It appears that they have suspended the Enumeration Beyond Entry (EBE) program for I-765 & N-400 applicants which was what triggered the SSA to issue the card. You will likely have to make an appointment with your local SSA and do it in person now.

We also checked the box and already got the EAD but no SSN card.  Do you know what is required to acquire it with our local SSA?  I'm the petitioner and my wife and step-son (k2 visa) need their ssn card.

Did your stepson receive the EAD also?

No, he's 12 and we didn't apply to get him that.  Wife received EAD.  Both of them completed biometrics.

Ok so I don't think he'll be able to get his SSN until he has a green card because he is in that kind of limbo status until he becomes a LPR. For your wife, you will have to contact the SSA and make an appointment at your local SS office to apply for a SSN for her. You can go online and do the application there and you will get a confirmation number. When we did Jaycel's, once we completed that step and got the confirmation number, it took us to a portal to schedule an appointment online for our local office. If they no longer offer that as an option, you will have to call them. Do your best to find the local office's phone number because I hear calling the national number is a pain and you have to wait forever to get someone.

Understood.  So, with the wife having the EAD that gives her the right to get the SSN card, correct?

Is it possible to get ITIN for stepson?  I need to add him to my health insurance.

Yes, bring the EAD, Birth Certificate, Passport, I-94 & official copy of the marriage certificate (especially if she changed her name after marriage) for your wife to the appointment

I'm pretty sure you can get an ITIN for your stepson... just make sure to notify the IRS after he gets his green card and you get him a SSN so that the IRS can associate the ITIN to the new SSN
