I applied for Naturalization 6/5/2025, biometrics reused. Didn't find out about Json until a month after . When I checked json updatedAt showed 7/7 but event code still FTAO which apparently was added 6/21. Milestone_days_remaining was in the 50s. There was another updatedAt on 8/8 but no new event code, a few days later progress tab changed from 9 to 10 months and Milestone_days_remaining went from 40s to 70s and time u til next Milestone went from 2 months to 3 months 😢. Still no interview notice.. I am trying to figure out if the updates especially on 8/8 with the progress change meant anything.

Don't pay attention to the progress estimate. Mine shows 2 days; I passed the interview on 6/10 and am still waiting for the decision.

ROC VSC mailed 5/7/14

NOA1 5/9

Check cashed 5/14

Biometrics current

RFE dated 12/18

RFE mailed 1/20

Approved 2/2 ! ( letter came from the local office)

Does anyone here know (@OldUser maybe?) how much of a hassle it could be to transfer the Oath Ceremony to a different field office? In this case from El Paso, TX to Tucson, AZ.

It's probably better to just do the drive again for the occasion but I thought I'd ask to see if someone has possibly seen this to be no issue at all ....

Case update!

I had my combo interview yesterday.

First, the officer asked a few questions about our marriage but as soon as he said "let's move on with the civics questions", I knew the I-751 had been approved.

For the N-400, I passed the civics, reading and writing test without a fail and then he went through all the mandatory yes/no questions.

He was struggling with my case because some questions were blank on his system, probably because I filed by mail with a fee waiver.

In my case, since I'm a Christian, I responded no to these questions on my application and during the interview:

34. If the law requires it, are you willing to bear arms (carry weapons) on behalf of the United States?
35. If the law requires it, are you willing to perform noncombatant services (do something that does not include fighting in a war) in the U.S. armed forces?

36. If the law requires it, are you willing to perform noncombatant services (do something that does not include fighting in a war) in the U.S. armed forces?

He asked for an explanation and I basically repeated what I wrote on the "Additional  Information" section of my N-400. I also provided documentation.

At the end of the interview, he recommended the case for approval and said that I'll be getting the Oath Ceremony Appointment next month. Hopefully it'll be sooner.

When we got out of the building, I checked my Online Account and saw that the status on my N-400 was "Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled", which mean it was approved.

The I-751 was also approved and the decision letter was made available about an hour later. Now I just have to wait for the ceremony!

Here's my complete timeline:

I-751

03/09/2024 - Mailed my I-751 with a Fee Waiver Request (I-912)
03/11/2024 - Package Delivered by USPS at the Post Office PO Box
03/11/2024 - Priority Date is March 11, 2024
04/01/2024 - Case number received via SMS

04/09/2024 - Biometrics reuse notice added to my USCIS online account
04/09/2024 - Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS
06/10/2025 - N-400 and I-751 Combo Interview Scheduled for 07/28

06/10/2025 - I submitted a request to reschedule the interview via my USCIS online account because I was not going to be available on 07/28

06/13/2025 - Got a call from the Field Office asking for a reason for the rescheduling and the availability

06/13/2025 - Case status for the N-400 changed to Interview Cancelled. The status on the I-751 still said Interview Scheduled until a new date was available.

06/26/2025 - N-400 and I-751 Combo Interview Scheduled for 08/12

08/12/2025 - I-751 Case Approved. Notice available on my Online Account

N-400

03/12/2025 - Mailed my N-400 package with a Fee Waiver Request (I-912) to Elgin, IL Lockbox via UPS

03/14/2025 - Package Delivered by UPS at the Front Desk and Signed by Robbins

03/14/2025 - Priority Date is March 14, 2025

04/01/2025 - Case added to my USCIS online account

04/02/2025 - Biometrics reuse notice added to my USCIS online account

06/10/2025 - N-400 and I-751 Combo Interview Scheduled for 07/28

06/10/2025 - I submitted a request to reschedule the interview via my USCIS online account because I was not going to be available on 07/28

06/12/2025 - Got a call from the Field Office asking for a reason for the rescheduling and the availability

06/12/2025 - Case status for the N-400 changed to Interview Cancelled. The status on the I-751 still said Interview Scheduled

06/26/2025 - N-400 and I-751 Combo Interview Scheduled for 08/12

08/12/2025 - N-400 Approved - Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled

A few notes:

a) I never received a receipt Notice for the N-400

b) Even though I submitted my N-400 before the 3 year residency requirement (within the 90 day window), they waited until I actually had 3 years as a permanent resident to schedule the interview.

c) I was also expecting them to waive the I-751 interview since we had an interview for the I-485 and they usually waive the I-751 interview if the couple had an interview for the I-485 but nope. They scheduled a combo interview.

I'll provide an update when I get my Oath Ceremony Appointment.

I wish everyone the best with your case!

Very interesting timeline!

I also filed under the same 3 years provision and 90 days advanced filing.

I'm sure that I will also be scheduled for interview when I clocked 3 years residency as a LPR and that should be this August 31st.

That's good as you need to be married for 3+ years and be LPR for 3+ years to be naturalized.

Congrats! Did they scheduled your Oath Ceremony?

Four hours after the interview, I received an email stating that a decision had been made. I checked, and the oath ceremony letter had been added to my documents, and a copy was mailed. It's in 2 weeks

That's great. Mine hasn't been scheduled yet. I got approved on Tuesday at Philadelphia.

Do you mind providing the eventCode from the JSON? Mine currently says QB1.

I would like to know what's the code for Oath Ceremony Notice was Mailed.

You can check by logging to your USCIS account and then paste this on the address bar: https://my.uscis.gov/account/case-service/api/cases/IOEXXX and replace the last part with your case number and press enter. Then click Pretty-Print on the upper left corner. Then find the events section and just under it you'll see it says eventCode. What code does it say?
