Columbia anti-Israel protester Mahmoud Khalil can be deported, judge rules

An immigration judge has ruled that Mahmoud Khalil can be deported from the United States due to his involvement in leading last year’s pro-Palestinian protests at Columbia University.

Judge Jamee Comans ruled in Louisiana on Friday that Khalil, 30, can be deported, saying that the U.S. government met its burden of proof to remove him.

During the hearing Friday, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) attorneys also spoke about how Khalil misrepresented himself on his green card application. DHS attorneys said that Khalil was not upfront about some of the organizations he is involved with.

Federal officials alleged that Khalil was "inadmissible at the time of his adjustment" because of "fraud or willful misrepresentation of material fact" in his status application.

The agency also accused Khalil of failing to disclose his work with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees and membership in Columbia University Apartheid Divest.

As you might recall, untold numbers of federal workers who received Musk's letter were incensed by the mere thought -- and audacity -- that they should be required to actually report specifics of the tasks they had accomplished over the previous five days, as if validating their job performance to superiors was tantamount to a threat.

Anyway, rather than respond to the student's email -- even with a non-answer -- Brown officials chose a boneheaded alternative: they summoned Shieh to answer charges of misrepresenting himself as a reporter for the Brown Spectator, an "unrecognized" student-run newspaper of conservative and libertarian political content at the university.  [...]

[...] Maybe next time, they'll stick to the quad, eh?  This is what should have happened in every single riot and 'occupation' at Columbia.  The NYPD do not have immediate jurisdiction in these matters; they had to wait for Columbia to request their intervention, which took months of riots and intimidation campaigns to finally happen.  And it only happened in that instance because the rioters seized a building and took two janitors hostage, a case that is still playing out in courts.

This time, Columbia got the police involved quickly after a couple of its campus police officers got injured in the riot.  This was no doubt motivated in part to avoid any more sanctions from the Trump administration, which has already suspended much of the federal funds Columbia receives.  The quick call to the NYPD this time allowed police to intervene appropriately, and to close the trap that the terrorist sympathizers created for themselves.  Seventy-eight were arrested after they realized that they had no choice but to acquiesce.  [...]

The house of cards is collapsing at Harvard, and this time, it's not just conservative media sounding the alarm.  Even The New York Times is reporting that Harvard has quietly admitted it's in "a major, major, major crisis."  And that's their words, not ours.  Federal funding is drying up, legal heat is rising, and the university's once-bulletproof prestige is now being shredded like a block of cheese.  So, what happened?  Well, it's the same thing that's unraveling elite institutions across the country: woke ideology, DEI fanaticism, and a toxic obsession with politics over principle.
