"The Secretary of Homeland Security has the authority to administer the Oath and may delegate the authority to other officials within DHS and to other employees of the United States.[3]"

If I remember correctly, Wife's oath was administered by  the local field office director in a ceremony of 1,000 new citizens.

I had my citizenship interview yesterday at the West Palm Beach office having applied on February 6.  The interview was very straightforward- he asked me 6 civics test questions to begin with and then a couple of questions about my marriage and then questions like had I ever been arrested, voted in a US election, belonged to an outlawed organization etc.  The officer then gave me the oath there and then.  I then waited about 30 minutes to get my naturalization certificate and briefed by another official as to what to do next e.g apply for a US passport.  I'm now off to apply for my passport!  Good luck everyone.

Congratulations. I filed late March, and to date still no word on the interview.  Based on your timeline,  I was hoping that I would be getting my interview date from West Palm Beach office last month. But no luck. Anyway it was so great to see that you had your oath administered after the interview. Wow!

FJ is an event code meaning your interview has been scheduled. Login and query your case with https://my.uscis.gov/account/case-service/api/cases/IOEnnnnnnnnnn.

I queried my case with your CLI and obtained my receipt number and CIS office:

{

Any one can throw some light on the meaning  of the other lines, like subtype 160A, etc?

FO: Los Angeles

General Provision 5-Year

Interview scheduled: June 24th 2025

Interview: July 28th 2025

Well, that’s a wrap! 6/6 on the civics test, followed by a solid 30-40 minutes of questioning for the actual interview.  Attended an oath ceremony 3hrs after interview, would have been sooner but delayed due to the lunch break.

Following day I attended a passport appointment that I’d made about 10 days prior, in case my application was approved and same-day oath was offered. Made sure to get the earliest time slot at 7am. Didn’t fancy standing around outside in the sun and FAR more people turn up to later appointments, I noticed once I’d left. Needed two passports urgently, provided documents required and they were ready within 48hrs. Painless experience overall.

Had to laugh at the comical portraits in the federal building though. It’s like an alternate universe seeing the president giving a WWE-style scowl to all who enter.

Good luck to all, and don’t sweat the test/interview, mine  go over test questions in the car on the way over and again in the waiting room to stay fresh. I did get into an argument with ChatGPT in the waiting room as it was adamant that Adam Schiff was a Representitive.

Finally, don’t expect any fancy ceremony in LA or any video from anyone in government congratulating you for becoming a citizen (the screen was off). Fantastically underwhelming experience and glad the process is over with.
