Hello Guys,we heard that DCF was cancelled in 23 of January 2007,does anybody know weather it is still impossible ?

For the most part the answer is yes, however, there is now a minimum in foreign country residency requirement (6 mos.) for the USC that must be met before petitions will be accepted.

YMMV

I will be curious to see how the natives react to this. Especially in places like Morocco and algeria where the native people are used to going home and DCF ing over the years and now they have to wait just like Americans unless they go over there for 6 months. This adam walsh act is a big hassle. We cannot even find bad people but they seem to live ( immigration) to harass normal people just trying to be married

Correct 6 months residency is now required.

Here is page from Tokyo Japan, that embassy used to accept any length of "Residency" even if the USC was just visiting.

  • 4 months later...

In Argentina you need to have a DNI, which is their resident identity card, not just 6 months residing in country before the Embassy will allow a DCF.

It can be a long process dealing with Argentine Immigration but they have improved their procedures. The big wait is for them to actually make the booklet! Up to 4 months.

In order to get the DNI, as a foreigner you must have a job, retirement or do the standard invest in a business. It is all on their immigration web page:
