12/06/2023 I filed my I-751. I did not receive my receipt notice which indicates extending my green card for 48 months since then.
However, I received the account acceptance notice, and biometrics reuse notice after a few weeks.

I activated my online account. I checked the information on my online account, and it showed that all the documents were sent on December 13, including the receipt notice. I waited for a few months. However, I did not receive the receipt notice since then!

05/28/2024 I called USCIS contact center and told the lady about not receiving the receipt notice for extending my green card. The lady told me that they would have an immigration officer calling me back in 30 days. I have not gotten any phone calls from them.

05/29/2024 I made a case inquiry online requesting them to re-send my receipt notice.

06/03/2024 I have received a mail from the USCIS. However, they sent me the account acceptance notice, not the receipt notice that I requested! I was very disappointed, as I had to delay my trip.

On the same day, I called the USCIS contact center again to request for the receipt notice. The operator told me that she could not make another case inquiry, as we need to wait for 30 days to make another one. She also mentioned that she would send a request for an ADIT stamp for us. Then, the immigration officer would call back in 30 days.

It is frustrating to me, as I have to delay my international travel and now I am not sure if I will be able to get an ADIT stamp in time to prove my legal status in the US. USCIS made a mistake, but I could only keep waiting for them to respond.  What else could I do?

I attached a screenshot of the account acceptance notice. It was just a notice about setting up my USCIS account.

I have never moved since I filed I-751.

I remember when I filed Adjustment of Status a few years ago, I never missed a receipt, so this has been very frustrating to me.

I have read online and saw other people being rejected for the ADIT stamp.

I am really worried, as in that way, I do not have any proof of my legal status in the US. (I only have the expired green card...)

Anyone knows how long it takes to get an ADIT stamp?

I wonder if they provide any duplicate copy your extension letter.

When you mentioned the online case inquiry, are you referring to this form?

https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayNDNForm.do?sroPageType=ndn&entryPoint=init

And if so, does it not allow you to submit another request within 30 days there, or was that only what you were told on the phone?

Yes, I used the form online (Non-Delivery of Notice) to submit the case inquiry.

Unfortunately, I cannot submit another one within 30 days, even though I already received the wrong document.

This is ridiculous. I delayed my flight to July 10 and the only thing I can do is wait...

Is it not in the documents section on your account?

Even if it is, I would not risk international travel with the printed PDF version.

Best bet at this point would be to try to get an in-person infopass appointment for an ADIT stamp. You will probably have to keep being persistent with that and also with any attempts to reach a Tier 2 officer to see if another (in their eyes) copy of the extension letter can be sent out without waiting for 30 days.

Edit: paging @mindthegap who has the most experience getting stamps in person…

I could see the PDF file of the receipt notice in my account, but I do not have the original copy.

I'm afraid that the airline company would not let me on board because I do not have the original copy.

I was wondering if you have any tips for me to reach a tier 2 agent while talking to the USCIS contact center.

I have called them twice about the Adit stamp. They both had the same answer and said that the immigration officer will call me back in 30 days.

They said if I am traveling for an emergency, I need to provide proof, such as the death certificate and translate it and notarize it. (I think this is ridiculous too. How long is it going to take to get these things if you are in an emergency?)

I am not sure if I should keep waiting or try to call them again. My flight is on July 10th.

Can’t speak from personal experience but others on these forums have mentioned saying (repeatedly if necessary) “infopass” on the phone system or typing “live agent” in the chat to reach someone. It seems like Tier 2 officers usually can’t be reached right away and have to call you back, as you have seen. If you have already tried the phone route multiple times, maybe time to switch it up and do the live chat?

Fingers crossed that maybe your document request from 5/29 will still result in the correct extension letter being mailed, there’s still time before all hope is lost.

Update:

6/10/2024

I have received an email regarding to the ADIT stamp appointment that I requested on 5/28.

It basically said that the extension letter (receipt notice for I-751) would be sufficient for international travels and authorization.

However, I still didn't have the original copy of the receipt notice.

6/29/2024

It has been 30 days since I made the case inquiry about non-delivery of receipt notice.

However, I haven't received anything. There is no response from USCIS regarding my phone call on 5/28.

I am very frustrated and upset with the current situation.

I feel that if there is no response by the end of next week, I will need to cancel my trip back home.

Why aren't you asking for assistance from your senator or congressman's aide dealing with federal matters? They have direct line with USCIS and can sort this out for you in no time. Figure out who your representative is, download the letter authorizing them to contact USCIS on your behalf and go see them first thing Monday morning.

Update:

7/1/2024

I called the USCIS contact center again, and the agent told me that he has put in an urgent request and I will get a call in 72 hours for my ADIT stamp. However, I did not feel quite safe, so I contacted the congressman's office and filed an inquiry.

7/5/2024 An officer from the local USCIS field office called me because he saw the congressman inquiry. He told me I could get an ADIT stamp next Monday or Tuesday.

7/8/2024

Today, I went to the field office and finally got my ADIT stamp!

The officer was friendly, and he told me that it was a common issue that people did not receive their receipt notice.

They have given feedback to the USCIS contact & service center and asked them to improve it, but it seemed that they did not take it.

He also told me that he could not print out the receipt notice for me because it is on a special piece of paper.

He said I don't have to worry too much about not having the receipt, as it won't affect me getting my citizenship next year.

However, I am really happy things got resolved and I can finally start packing for my trip back home!

I appreciate @milimelo posted the comment about contacting congressman, as I wasn't sure if I should do it.

@DangerKitty I also tagged you here and hope my experience can help you a little bit!
