It is Sunday -- time for our Official Weekly VAWA-Thread Joke:

===========================================
VACUUM SALE

An old lady answered a knock on her door from a well-dressed young man carrying a vacuum cleaner.

"Good morning!" said the young man.  "If I may take a moment of your time, I'd like to demonstrate the very latest in high-powered vacuum cleaners."

"Go away!" said the old lady.  "I'm broke and have no money!"  She proceeded to close the door.

Quick as a flash, the young man wedged his foot in the door and pushed it wide open.

"Don't be too hasty!" he said.  "Not until you have at least seen my demonstration!"  He then emptied a bucket of horse poop onto her hallway carpet.

"Now, if this vacuum cleaner fails to remove all traces of this horse poop from your carpet, Ma'am, I will personally eat the remainder."

The old lady stepped back and said, "Let me get you a fork.  They cut off my electricity this morning."

Hello again everyone, somehow time has flown enough that it is time to apply from citizenship! I have being seeing conflicting information online so figured to ask here - what documents do I actually need to send with my n400 application? The one I am most curious about is my ex's proof of citizenship - I have a copy of his expired passport but nothing recent and there is no way I will be able to get it so not sure if it is required, and if so, what to do?

Sunday!  Time for our Official Weekly VAWA-Thread Joke:

===========================================
OVERHEARD AT SCHOOL

Teacher:  Why are you late?

Student:  Class started before I got here.

Teacher:  Johnny, why are you doing your math multiplication on the floor?

Student:  You told me to do it without using tables.

Teacher:  Glenn, how do you spell Crocodile?

Student:  K-R-O-K-O-D-I-A-L.

Teacher:  No; that's wrong.

Student:  Maybe it IS wrong, but you asked me how *I* spell it.

Teacher:  Donald, what's the chemical formula for water?

Student:  H I J K L M N O.

Teacher:  What are you talking about?

Student:  Yesterday, you said it's H to O.

Teacher:  Winnie, name one important thing we have today that we didn't have ten years ago.

Student::  Me!

Teacher:  Bobby, why do you always get so dirty?

Student:  Well, I'm a lot closer to the ground than you are.

Teacher:  George Washington not only chopped down the cherry tree; he also admitted it.  Louis, do you know why his father didn't punish him?

Student:  Because George still had the axe in his hand.

Teacher:  Billy, tell me frankly -- do you say prayers before eating?

Student:  No, ma'am; I don't have to.  My mom is a good cook.

Teacher:  Clyde, your essay on "My Dog" is exactly the same as your brother's.  Did you copy his work?

Student:  No, ma'am.  It's the same dog.

Teacher:  Harold, what do you call a person who keeps talking when people are no longer interested?

Student:  A teacher.

You are filling for citizenship under witch provision?

3 years rule or 5 years?

What is your green card category?

All depends on these factors.

You don't need to provide a proof of your ex spouse citizenship in most cases.

The divorce decree is sufficient.

I guess your green card is "IB6" category ( meaning that you got your green card as a spouse  of a US citizen)

The citizenship of your ex spouse has been already proven and adjudicated during your vawa and green card process.

You just need to check the correct provision(vawa)you are filing your citizenship on your form N-400 and you will be okay.

Nothing to worry about 👍 😊

You're welcome.

The most difficult part was the  I-360 (vawa ) and the I-485 approvals.

The N-400 is a very straightforward process.

I guess many people on this thread can confirm that.

Don't worry, keep faith and trust in God and everything will be perfectly okay with you.🙏🙏🙏

It's more the law that's stupid. There's privacy protections for VAWA, U visas, and T visas. In theory they're supposed to protect you from someone accidentally revealing information to any unauthorized third parties. In practice any kind of inquiry or request has to go through your senator/congressman because you can't call, can't use the website, and you can technically mail them but doesn't seem like anyone really looks at the incoming mail.
