I just applied for my first US passport and expedited it as we are travelling in June, and while we’re staying in the US, it would be bad if it arrived while we were away. I’m also due to renew my Canadian passport. I see that it takes about 20 days which seems like enough time. However; I’m not sure how long delivery takes to the US. Anyone have a recent experience getting a renewed passport?

I did expedite the US passport. I don’t think I can expedite my Canadian one from the US though.

Maybe I worded it poorly - I’m just wondering how long it’s taken Canadians in the US to get their Canadian passport? It’s been a decade since I ordered my last one.

can't u renew ur canadian passport from inside the US? if you said 20 days, thats more than enough.

if you are not sure, call the consulate/embassy/passport office and ask, how long is the average time now. ( as you know, 1 year ago, 10 years ago, even 6 months ago the average time will varied)

I wasn’t sure if I could actually talk to someone at passport Canada given how hard it is to reach a human when I call USCIS. I did try calling and after a 30 minute wait did get though to someone. Looks like they deliver to citizens living in the US via fedex which is actually faster than delivering within Canada (1-2 days with fedex vs ~5 days with Canada post). So I might mail in my passport application today.
