Hello, all. Gly and I have passed our interview, medical and CFO and I booked her ticket to the U.S. for March 2nd. That parts true, lol. What I am concerned about now is that Gly said that she saw someone mention in a you tube video that she will have to undergo ANOTHER interview by immigration at the Cebu airport before she can leave. The video said we would have to prove our relationship to immigration and that they want a " Guarantee of support form" signed and notarized from me before her flight and that it has to be original and not a copy. Has anyone else experienced any of this? because I haven't seen anything like this mentioned anywhere here and neither of us have heard of such a thing until now. From my understanding all she needed to depart was her passport, visa, CFO certificate and a receipt for her travel tax to board the plane. Now we are both panicing because her flight is just a little more than 2 weeks away and there's no way I can send her an original, notarized document in time for her flight day. I emailed Ph Immigration to ask them but haven't gotten a reply yet. I am hoping that video she saw is all false info. I thought thats why I filed the I-134. If they need that, we only have the photocopies.

The Philippines is famous for misinformation.  You will be fine.  The story probably originated with someone being "off-loaded," which sometimes happens when Filipinos attempt to leave on a tourist visa or work visa, but with insufficient documentation in the eyes of immigration.  I've read a few of those stories.  You won't have any issues like that with a K-1.  A friend just exited on a K-1 and didn't even mention the departure, so it was a non-event.  You can stop worrying about all the "what-ifs" now.  CFO is the last thing, and you've already done it.

Secondary interviews are not uncommon for Filipinos traveling as tourists and can be harsh.  "Offloading" is real.  But not with K1 or immigrant visas.  CFO is more or less your insurance against that.  At least in theory CFO should have vetted your fiancee's relationship with you and if CFO said it's ok, than BI should accept the CFO certificate at face value.  It's more or less settled by CFO before she ever goes to the airport.

Tell her stop watching YouTube videos, Facebook groups etc. I don't know if I will catch flack for this but Filipinos love to go out of their way to find things to worry about.

 

The other thing that is real in the Philippines is they "they said" culture. You will hear the strangest things you can imagine and ask where they heard that from. The answer is...They said. Who is this "they"? You can't let a baby get a drop of rain on them but you can give them a bath. You can't eat watermelon after a c section or your wound will open up. I have really considered writing a book and calling it, they said.

3. CFO it used to be attached to the passport, but not sure now.

4. Philippine travel tax for P1,620.00 for economy and P2,700.00 if business class, Maybe paid online to avoid the hassle at the

5. May do 72 hours ahead Philippine Travel Information System (eTravel)

6. May even check in international flight ahead.

7. Maybe know ahead what to declare when arriving in the USA.
