Hello,

I am the US citizen, and my fiancée is Romanian; I was wondering if it's possible to expediate due to emotional hardship? I know this is probably not a thing, but it is very hard for me to be without my Fiancée and due to work I can't really travel anymore because I took a month off to see her in October and I work in a hospital so it's hard to get vacation days anyways, I have no family and so I'm so alone and it hurts not being able to be with her, I know I'm complaining when almost everyone on here feels the same but this is so painful, I am having a surgery within the next few months (not major) but I want her to be there, I don't have anyone else to support me and I'll be all alone if something was to go wrong I wouldn't have her beside me and that hurts so much. Is there anything we can do?

You are certainly welcome to attempt to expedite but being sad and lonely ( which most in this process are) is not a valid reason. Your upcoming medical may be but don’t be surprised if it doesn’t work.

Yes, I am aware most people are sad and lonely, I was mostly just trying to ask if it would be possible because I'm going through this surgery with no support (no friends or family) if it would be possible to expedite the visa due to emotional hardship and the risks of this procedure.

many people visit during the process, I did.

unfortunately, in Romania you need some type of visa in order to visit in the United States. We applied for a tourist visa and were denied because there were not enough ties to her country, I cannot really travel because of my job being so demanding.

An expedite request is free, so give it a try.  Make sure to focus only on the medical reason, and include lots of documentation from doctors, psychiatrists, etc.  Chances are they will not approve an expedite but if you don't ask you won't know.  Also be aware that an expedite at the petition (USCIS) stage does not mean instant visa approval--it only means the petition may be processed a little faster.  There would still be the interview stage at the consulate abroad.
