B1/2 visa from UK

Hello, 

 

My father in law is a permanent resident in UK but he has Romanian citizenship and passport. We are getting ready to complete the DS 160 for his visa application but I’m not sure what documents he will need to bring to the interview from Romania, the country of citizenship. Does anyone know? Also, does he needs a police report from Romania or just from UK?

No documents are required for a B2 visa application. Police report is also not required.

 

Information on the DS160 will be used to decide whether to grant the visa or not, as well as the answers to the questions at the interview, not pieces of paper.

 

What ties does he have to the UK?

Those are not very strong ties. What about a job? Family?

A B2 interview is quick, just a few minutes, just a few questions, very unlikely he will be asked about any documents. By all means take anything he feels might be substantive.
