Applicant had a name change to current more than 30 years ago. Is it required to attach evidence of name change on the application?

In the applicant's Birth Certificate there's has a note stating a name change when she was 2 years old (now over 30). We can supplement the AOS app with another document officiating that name change, however, I don't see anywhere in the instructions to attach name change documentation, and we are not using any document that has the old name.  Is attaching this name change document required (or advisable)?

My wife's birth certificate was annotated with a name change.  We submitted the annotated birth certificate itself as the legal name change document along with a brief explanation.
