Good morning, I am a new member and I needed some help and some insight. Our case is in Casablanca Morocco since July 18,2023. We filled out the DS 160. We are in READY status on the stat tracker. Our lawyer said we are waiting for Casablanca to schedule the interview for us ? Does anyone know from experience how long it usually takes to get an interview. Our case will have 3 months in Casablanca this 10/18. Does anyone have any emails or contact numbers besides the call center because they are not helpful. Bored Cabin Fever GIFAny help is appreciated. Thank you very much.

K-1 cases normally schedule their own interview appointments.  Was this case expedited to the consulate?  Your case could be in danger of expiring.

When I called the call center. They said my lawyer did expedite it. They provided me a case number. We are basically waiting for the consulate to send us the information to move forward. My legal assistant said that every consulate is different and processes things differently. ( I asked the hard questions) These cases can’t expire because the immigration officer at the embassy has the ability to change the date( that was on the uscis approval letter) we also tried scheduling the interview but the system isn’t recognizing his credentials. Legal assistant said it is because they haven’t gotten to his packet yet. I’m just trying to get insights to try to help the anxiousness.

Your wait time is unfortunately normal for the Casablanca consulate right now. You can try emailing K1Casablanca@state.gov to ask for an interview date. Sometimes this works right away, sometimes it still takes weeks or months to receive a response, but they generally do respond to that email. I'll post a template below. Another thing you could try is to ask your congressman to email them on your behalf, they tend to be more responsive to that.

Hello,

I am requesting assistance with an interview at the U.S. Consulate.

We filed the K1 Visa on 00/00/00. It was approved by USCIS on 00/00/00. The National Visa Center created a case number on 00/00/00 and shipped the case to the US Consulate in Morocco on 00/00/00. The case moved to "ready" for interview status on .00/00/00 We already submitted the DS160 application on 00/00/00. However, we are unable to

schedule an interview until the US consulate schedules one for us. We have not received any kind of communication from the consulate regarding our interview.

Please note that once a K visa petition is approved by USCIS, the file will be sent to the U.S. Consulate in Casablanca and we will contact the beneficiary of the petition directly to schedule an interview date.

it is better to prepare well for the interview and concentrate on the needed original documents needed for the interview with the English translations /to many go to interview and are put into Long AP while casa waits for needed items (and they do not hurry to review these when finally are received)

all documents are listed on the below site

CR1 interviews are not scheduled by NVC?

It is but its Casa / we scheduled ours in 2009 but upon inquiry they changed in  October for the 2010 season /it is said due to more extended AP and fraud keeping them occupied

At the same time, serious fraud problems have slowed down processing for everyone. Due to these issues, most K-1/K3 applicants must wait several months to be scheduled for an interview after the Consulate receives their petition.

I updated my timeline 😀 I def want to help others too. I am grateful that there is an online forum to help one another out. I keep hearing bad things about the Casablanca embassy. I think it depends on the person who conducts the interview. We are def looking forward for the next chapter in our lives. It's just very hard when there is nothing but silence. I keep checking my emails every single day to see if we get an email but I'm trying to stop doing that because I don't want to drive myself bonkers.

u can drive yourself nuts checking mail everyday /i did it too

but gotta agree on "Who does the interview" part

we were finally approved when done by USC man but then i had commingled assets and done a lot to prepare

Again,  i say,  prepare the Moroccan

letting the Moroccan know everything there is to know about u

if ever married,  the person should know how marriage ended ?  death or divorce?  and the date

if there are children ,  person should know names and ages

Moroccan should know they will be unable to work till EAD is done but have a plan for life in the US -like work or study

and USC should know the red flag isssues and be prepared to deal with them

Nolo law has a good list

https://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/red-flags-that-make-uscis-suspect-marriage-fraud.html

Casa can be a difficult embassy but when a couple have spent quality time together and the relationship has proven strong ,  K1 can be approved

Keep each other encouraged and quit worrying daily about immigration

this is time to date -even if long distance
