I hate to admit this, but two weeks ago on vacation in Istanbul I went to McDonalds to get a quick bite when my wife wasn't feeling well.

Ordered a Big Mac with fries and a Coke.  After the money exchange it came to $6.45.  I thought it was a mistake because I wasn't sure how well the young girl taking my order understood English.  Yes, she assured me the order was correct.  A little bit different than what I paid the last time I ordered the same here in FL.

In Quito a few years ago, I went to a Burger King.  I can't remember the prices (probably a little higher than in the U.S.), but the regular hamburgers were gigantic, filled with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, et al.  I had ordered 4 (a light supper for me in the U.S.) and honestly couldn't even finish 2.

 

I go to McDonald's as a very last fast-food choice.  They're the most blatant chain at reducing burger & bun size when costs go up.  A Big Mac today is probably 70% or even 60% the size of what they used to be.

So is it California's intention to make these jobs more scarce?  Make the workers that do remain do more work?  Seems really ignorant for a government entity to get involved with setting ceilings or floors in the market, but of course the regressive elites know better.  Btw, for those companies exempt from this new law due to their proper and correct political donations, it may backfire on them as they try to find workers.
