Hi All,

I filed I-130 for my mother in July 2022 by postal mail. Later, I registered it online by using the online access code received from USCIS. In June 2023, I received an RFE letter (asking for birth-related supporting documents) and my response (with supporting documents) reached USCIS by postal mail also in June (based on courier tracking number).

I have a few questions regarding that:

(i) The status of my case (inside USCIS online account) does not have any information about RFE process (no record of RFE issuance or response). It is stuck in "actively reviewed" as it has been for previous one year. So, I have no way of knowing if they received my response (other than Courier tracking). Is it very unusual to have no mention of RFE in case status?

(ii) I read in some online resources (not from USCIS) that we can raise a service request if more than 60 days pass after an RFE response is sent. Is it correct? If so, can I do it by filling the online service request tool or do I have to call/chat with a representative?

(iii) My concern is that, since USCIS online account/case status tool does not show any information about this entire RFE process, when I talk to a representative (to raise an inquiry post 60 days from RFE response), she/he will have no knowledge of the RFE at all. Is this a valid concern?

(iv) My initial case receipt was sent from Nebraska. However, the mailing address for sending RFE response was Texas Service Center (TSC). Does it mean, to check processing times in USCIS webpage, I need to choose TSC as my processing location? The processing times for same form vary a bit based on what location we choose.

Appreciate input from fellow VJ users.

Not unusual.

File for Writ of Mandamus by December if the case is still pending

I read in some websites (not from USCIS), one can create a service request if more than 60 days passed after RFE response is sent and no update occurred to case status. Not sure how authentic this information is.  Can anyone kindly confirm if this is correct or not? My application is I-130 (Parent) category.

Thanks.
