Latest timeframe for an appointment after DQ

Title says it all. My wife and I believe we are going to get our I-130 approved in the very near future and I don't expect (more like hope) the DQ phase will take much time because we are all ready for it. So I am wondering how long a wait it currently is for an appointment in Manila?

I also see people trying to schedule their own appointments, but I thought that once you are DQ'd the Embassy is the one who sends your appointment? Is this an expedited method?

For a normal case, NVC will schedule a spousal visa interview once your case has been DQ'd and once it has reached the front of the queue for your consulate at NVC.  Expedited cases work differently based on individual consulate operating procedures.

US Embassy Manila is being wildly unpredictable with their scheduling this year.  They now seem to be using the expedite system for EVERYONE as a roundabout way of switching over to all self-scheduling and completely eliminating any scheduling by NVC.  In January this year they expedited EVERYONE who was DQ for spousal visas.  Then there was no spousal visa scheduling activity at all, save for a handful of actual expedites, up until June 26.  On June 26 they expedited EVERYONE who was DQ up until about May 15.  Since then there has been no further scheduling so as it stands now anyone DQ from May 15 onward is waiting for scheduling. Presumably by another "mass auto-expedite".  When that will happen is remains a mystery.

Until end of last year, NVC automatically sent interview appointments to those DQ CR1/IR1 cases in Manila.  This year, as @top_secret mentioned above, USEM seems to be auto-expediting cases, so applicants could pick their interview schedule themselves.  Join the thread below for updates from others pending interview in Manila --
