You are welcome. Where did you hear it had taken 18-20 months?

There is a Turkish forum, in there it was told that interview waiting time after DQ for EB visas are almost 18-20 months https://yesilkartforum.com/forum/topic/4702/abd-de-bir-i̇ş-teklifi-gerektirmeyen-green-card-başvurusu-eb-2-veya-niw/552?_=1688825696941

I see. So it appears like process took 9 months because of expedite I assume. Cause I don’t know if their case expedited or not

It can be due to expedition. Could you learn if there is an expedition or normal process

Thanks

You can update it - just copy and paste it before editing.

Good luck, hope it doesn't take too long for your PD to become current.

Hi! Does anyone know how long it might take to get IL in kathmandu Nepal after dq? I got dq in april and how long I might have to wait? My classes will start from aug 28 and neither I can apply for F1 visa. Are there any chances of getting F1 visa if I apply for it ? Will it affect my Eb visa interview? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

So quick update from me, had our interviews today and we were approved, hurrah! So just waiting for our passports to come back but seems to be super quick at the moment, so hopefully they'll be here in plenty of time for our flights on 29th.

Our interview slot was 10.30am, we got there at 10am and the queue wasn't that big. But we went and asked where to go as we knew IV appointments were usually sent straight in, which is exactly what happened (much to do the disgust of the people in the queue….not very British at all of us to queue jump!). We then got sent to the citizens line to check in so were in very quickly.

We didn't get seen until about 11.45am, we were called up to the window and asked for various documents, did biometrics and had the officer check a few things i.e. birth dates etc. Spent about 10 minutes there before sitting back down for another half an hour. Then got called up for the actual interview which took maybe 30 seconds! Two questions - 'what do you do for a job' and 'will you be continuing in the same field once you move to the US'. That was it, we were told we were approved, the lovely consular officer said 'congratulations' and off we went.

Two things I'd say for anybody waiting for their interview - firstly make sure you read the instructions really carefully. Whilst we were sat there waiting, two people were sent away with green slips as they only had copies of documents that they were supposed to have originals of. And secondly, bring a book as you could be waiting a while!

Good luck all, hope you all have equally positive news soon.

all the best ahead @appleblossom .. funny we have to wait for months  for a  less than 30 minutes question session. This process is inefficient AF! 🙃🤭

As somebody that's worked in immigration for many, many years (not for the US) I'd say it's actually incredibly efficient compared to other countries! It's just a case of waiting our turn, obviously it depends on the country though as to how many people are in the queue ahead of us. I was lucky as London is incredibly fast at the moment.
