Tourist Visa from Philippines

My wife wants her mother to come spend some time and visit USA and check out where we live, etc.

My wife has a trip already planned to spend July and August back home. But I don't think they are processing appointment that fast.

I have a trip booked already in October, But I would like to  fly over to Philippines and spend a couple of months over there and possibly fly back with her so I am kinda trying to kill two birds with one stone and see how long it's taking to get visa appointment in Manila. I usually go in April and October, so my October trip could be extended for few months if needed.

What the latest updated estimate for tourist visa appointment?

You can keep looking for earlier after you book. My niece booked in January and got a May date, then a week later found a mid April date and another week later found an open March 31 date.

Nice Tip Thanks for the heads up

Do you know if they are back to normal in Philippines regarding mask? I was there in May till July and some places wanted mask and proof of vaccine to enter malls.

Are they letting US Citizens enter the US Embassy in Manila on the consular yet?

I assume they will still hold your electronics if you enter as a US Citizen?

I was there November thru January. Mask required on the plane and kind of in the airport and the few government offices I visited but not really enforced (as if it was around ears and pulled under chin no one wanted "nosebleed" to talk to me about it).

In Cavite, Bohol and Puerto Princesa some folks wore masks in malls, I and family didn't and we had no issues.

I didn't go to the embassy as we are done with that fun.

Headed back two weeks from today to bring my MIL here as she finally got her visa (PD was 7/9/2009). Long story 😃

Wow, that's a long long time

I was thinking about escorting my mother in law to the US Embassy in Manila, show her how to get there quickly from Red Planet Hotel she will probably stay at since it overlooks the US Embassy and it about a 30 seconds walk to Roxas Blvd and another 2 mintue walk to the pedistrian walk over bridge to get to the consular side.

oops, should have read 2019, but still long :)

We stayed at the Bayview back in 2015.  Wasn't bad.

We bought a presale condo at the Sands Residence going up just down Roxas a couple blocks from the embassy, but won't have it until late 2026.

Good luck with her interview.  I'm looking forward to a couple more weeks of warm weather there while getting her and getting the house cleared out and locked up
