Thank you, @NatLiuu. We received an email from Embassy 2 days after this status change.

unfortunately Embassy currently have no K visa appointments available. we are still waiting to schedule.

Does anyone know what shipping method the NVC uses to send files to the embassy? Is it electronic or physically shipped?

I assume electronic since the files were submitted to NVC electronically.

It’s physical. Usually by DHL. They ship them out 4 times (Tuesdays and Wednesdays), twice a month

I second @PakistaniRussian’s reply.

Some people have been successful with the DHL method present on the PDF here on the first post of this topic.

It's the 21st century....LOL.    Actually, I was thinking of immigrant visas.  Thanks for the info.

This is a K1 thread. We’re still stuck in in the 20th. Not sure about other visas, but even the shipping from USCIS to NVC is physical mail as well.

My I-797 says it’s valid till 7-27-2023. I assume with the long delays of it even getting to the NVC they will automatically extend it’s validity?

Yes, the consular officer will extend it automatically according to USCIS

I just got an email today with my case number!

 

there is no invoice ID in the email so I’m not sure how I can check the status to see when it arrives at the embassy.

No need for an invoice ID.
Check your status on CEAC by selecting immigrant.

Isn’t it non immigrant? I tried both but it said my case number was invalid.

It is, but on CEAC tracker you gotta select immigrant for it to work.
The case number they provided starts with three letters representing your embassy + 10 numbers?
