Hello everyone !

- Just asking for some advice before NVC and Embassy stage

We are at our 7 month waiting for our I-130 and we are thinking what option between postponing the embassy ITW (Is it even possible ? Paris embassy) or wait before submit all the documents required at the nvc stage ?

The reason that we want to wait is that we are both working until end of April 2024 and we obviously want to wait until that date because that's gonna be our 2 years anniversary.

Both living together in France for years.

Thanks

Denis & Annie

You can slow walk the process at the NVC stage.

Good Luck!

Thank you !

I know that we can slow down everything at the NVC stage by contacting them to keep our case open.

I should have asked another way then, my question is :

As we can all make some mistakes at the NVC stage ( Missing documents or anything else) and get RFE, can we just pass the NVC stage as quickly as possible and then, if we got DQ too early, can we change the date of the ITW ?

As we want to leave to the US in May 2024, the ITW date must not be set up before Mid-December 2023.

You might find something in my old posts from 2019/2020.  If I recall correctly, the only thing you can do at the interview stage, if you don't like the date or can't make it, is to miss it and reschedule.  At the time, Manila Embassy was a mess and that would be risky.  Paris might be different now.

We are still postponing at NVC.

Hum I see. So the best option would be to slow down the NVC stage until mid November I try to not get any RFE.

Any chance to find out what's  the average time from DQ'd to interview date ?

And thank you again for your help !
