Is it worth is to try and contact USCIS?

Hi everyone!

I hope you are well. We are about 9 months in our I-130 processing (I am the US citizen, wife and stepdaughter are beneficiaries) and I am concerned about how little movement there has been on our petitions. The USCIS has been "actively reviewing" since June, 2022 and we are in an unenviable situation abroad (no criteria for expediting, however).

I was wondering if anyone has experience calling USCIS to inquire about their status. If so, did it make any difference? I greatly appreciate any replies!

I don't personally have experience calling USCIS (I too am abroad, and it wouldn't be worth the hold time.)
The consensus here is that USCIS won't even consider helping you out until you have reached a point that is PAST the estimate that they give you on the official site. According to most users here though, sometimes even getting THAT help is dependent on which way the wind is blowing.
It's a long process, but you are still within "normal" processing time! Stay positive and start getting your NVC submission ready.

We are getting closer to the time to file the NVC submission too. Im hoping that I don't forget anything that needs to be included in that submission, do you know if there is a cheat sheet or something to not omit anything? Thanks
