Hi,

I am worried for my medical exam as once, 15 years ago, I had one episode of self-harm and I have 6 visible scars on my legs.

I've spoken to my GP about writing a statement and he wrote me the following statement:

"Scar on Leg from one episode self harm 15 years ago"

"No current Rx and no current issues or intention to self harm"

I read that the medical likes having the wording "no threat to himself or others" but my GP was very short-spoken and basically dismissed my self harm as it was so long ago.

Is this going to be enough for the medical? Do I have to worry?

Thank you.

It’s probably enough because it indicates you are not a threat to yourself. And no, you do not require therapy.

Had the medical today it seems to have gone well. The Dr mentioned that embassy makes the final decision but that they don't believe it to be an issue due to how long ago it was. I hope it all goes well!
