Dear members.

my iR-1 visa has been in AP since Jan 2022, medical is expired, status shows refused for Admin Processing and i get same reply from embassy as well. VO requested no further documents nor asked to do anything els , he/she only said my case needs further AP.

now im wondering why the embassy never requested new medical as its valid for 6 months.

If they are not close to making a decision on your case, they will not request a new medical.  AP for Pakistan males can last a long time.  Did you get a DS-5535?

The new medical will expire as well if they don't make a decision in the next 6 months, so there is no point in asking for the medical at this point unless they plan to decide the outcome. When the the time comes up, they will request the new medical and sometimes call for another interview as well.

Look into the Islamabad subforum. People have been stuck on AP for quite long. Unless COs get some updates on any background checks/verifications they are trying to get from wherever, you won't hear any updates.
