Noticed that they now added  'Last Updated: August 04, 2025'

to the IV tool. Disappointing to still see Apr-2024 in an August update.

@SaphrinThey are not really at April 2024 as I received my IL and I'm July 2024. I didn't expedite or did anything special. So it's between April to July 2024 right now...
Perhaps the only thing I can see is that they might be prioritizing Canada as a country of chargeability, but I have no idea.

Yeah your IL definitely gave me a lot of hope! That's why I was so caught off guard, as I anticipated that the August update would at least show July 2024. This mismatch implies that the status tool is not accurate. Will have to keep monitoring this thread to see if any others are getting ILs beyond April 2024.

What EB category are you? Please do fill in your timeline to 'pay it forward' and help others, thanks.

IL's for EB applicants will be slowing down considerably now until the new Fiscal Year.

Hello All!

I would like to let you know my visa was approved today at US Consulate in Montreal. It was a very straightforward and smooth process; appointment was at 7:50 am and we were lined up since 7:30am. A security officer reviewed our passports and validated with his appointments list for the day.

Then we passed through a Security Scanner (same as at the airports) and took elevator to 1st floor. Then we were given a small instructions card to organize passports and civil docs along with police certificates and photos per family member (one copy must be included per document). 15 mins later we were called to window 8 to double-check all those documents while asking questions to each family member just to confirm name, age, and previous US travels.

Everything at that stage went pretty smooth and it took roughly 10 mins.

Then we were asked to wait seated for next step (fingerprints). 10 mins later we were called to window 5 and had fingerprints; everything went well and no additional questions arose at that stage; it took no more than 4 mins.

So last step was on its way then and after waiting around 30 mins we were called to window 3…officer took us the oath and with such an amazing kindness asked the following questions:
1. Highest degree
2. Which state are you planning to move to
3. Current role
4. If I was self-petitioner

He grabbed a white sheet and told “visa is approved”, while returning all original documents and just keeping passports to stamp the visa.

Now as per CEAC website visa status changed to Issued.

Thank you all for the valuable experience shared, wishing the best of luck to those who are still waiting for their interviews.

Thank you for sharing! Do you mind sharing country of chargeability?

Thanks for sharing and congrats! The officer didn’t ask you any questions about your petition at all, or anything like “what makes you extraordinary and why are you applying for this visa?” I’ve seen many posts mentioning that they were asked for details — sometimes very detailed ones.
Also, what field are you in, if you don’t mind sharing?

Please fill it in on your profile with your timeline too - that way we all contribute to the stats and knowledge here on VJ. Thanks.

Trying to fill out, but I can't seem to find 'Priority Date' and 'DQ Date'. Are there fields that mean the same thing but have a different name? Don't want to fill in the wrong information.

Also how do I go about seeing a table that shows the DQ and IL dates of all the EB folks processing in Montreal on VJ? It seems that even if everyone filled out their timeline, the table is not displaying the relevant information, unless I'm missing something?
