Should we update NVC portal with updated documents before the interview? I am sponsoring for my wife and her interview is coming up next week. When our documents were qualified (DQed) I had submitted only 2020 and 2019 Tax info. Now that I have 2021 tax statements should I upload it to NVC before the interview. Is it OK to upload documents before the interview and after DQ step. Please help

If you've been DQ'd but don't have an interview scheduled, don't upload any other documents. I think this could push your DQ date further back because the NVC would have to review the newly submitted documents. However if you have an interview scheduled, I think you can upload the additional documents safely.

If I'm wrong, someone can correct me.

Thank you for the reply. We have our interview coming up soon, so it should be safe to update the documents right? Also I was reading few other posts and some people said that uploading documents in additional docus section is always safe. I want to be very sure before uploading any documents. Your reply helps me a lot. If there are others who may also know the answer to this question, please clarify.

Same question here.

Not sure, do we have to upload updated docs to CEAC?

In the Consulate's website, I didn't see anything regarding uploading updated docs...

Can anyone advise please?

Yes, absolutely you should add your 2021 transcript or federal return and W2’s/1099’s plus an updated I864 signed with 2021 tax info/income. Upload to additional documents on CEAC and bring copies to interview. They approve visas based on the current tax year which is 2021, So will require that info. Be proactive.

Thank you so much. I have all the documents and my wife will be carrying all of them to the interview. I also wanted to upload it to CEAC and be pro-active but I was nervous that if I upload now, will it affect anything with the interview. Last time when I got an RFE and uploaded additional documents it put us back in the line and we lost 3 months. I do not want that to happen since we are so close to the interview.

Do you have personal experience with this or if you know some one that has uploaded documents before the interview. I am sorry but I am reconfirming because this interview is so important for us and we have been waiting like everyone for more than three years to get here. Please don't mind me asking for re-assurance.

Once a case is DQ-ed, NVC will not review the case documents again.  Uploading additional documents to CEAC after DQ will not reset the DQ date.

As long as you have your interview appointment set, it will be fine. If you don’t have your interview letter yet, just wait until you receive it then you can upload to CEAC after that. I follow immigration groups on Facebook and the most knowledgeable admins/experts advise to always update CEAC with latest tax year and and I-864 after interview appointment if not already on CEAC. I uploaded 2021 tax return 2 weeks before I got DQ’d and then after interview letter, I added an updated I-864 that was signed and included 2021 info as well. I have my interview coming up in a few weeks and will bring copies as well.
