Total Confusion

So, uh. We're pretty confused. I came over to the US on my already approved K-1 Visa with Newark as my POE. We're due to get married next month and today we recieved this email:

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status:

On January 30, 2006, we received this case back from the Department of State for further review. We will mail you a notice when our review is complete or when we take other action.

Anyone else had this, does it mean that we're in AR, even though I've already been issued the Visa? We got emailed this 3 times, so I'm wondering if maybe it was a mistake or a weird glitch in the system or something.

We're just totally confused by this.

Filed Waiver for my son's 10 year GC and it was approved. He finally received his GC after its been missing for 2 years.

HuffyTheSlayer,

Yes, I think I've seen someone else make a similar post in the last couple of weeks.

Sounds like there might be some mis-communication going on somewhere - hopefully on the part of whoever is initiating the e-mails.

What does your online status say about the petition (not that it will be any more accurate).

Hi Huffy!!!

As you can see in my post, we just received the same email yesterday (Jan 31st) and my port of entry was Newark too on Jan 19th... We called them (USCIS and NVC) but they don't know anything about... I'm worried if this will cause some trouble with AOS or anything...

My suggestion would be don't ignore it - write/fax the center straight away - querying the letter(s) - make sure they have something from you confirming their mistake - I find it quite worrying that they appear to be RE-DOING old applications and would demand an explanation before anything gets messed up.

I don't mean you should panic - but definatley let the center know that they have screwed up so it can be corrected and you can have an OFFICIAL 'ok this was a mistake letter' that you can take to AOS interview should you need it.

I note that BOTH of you went thru Nebraska so hopefully its just THAT center that's having the spazz attack.

We both went through Nebraska and through Newark. Maybe Newark screwed up or something. I'll have a look for Nebraska's address.
