Unusual Approval Letter

We got our approval letter for the i29F on April 27th from USCIS. It appears to be going directly to the embassy which I double checked by calling them. Unfortunately the embassy is not listed does anyone know what the next steps are or why it would go direct to the embassy? I suspect it might be because she was expedited due to being Ukrainian. Though she currently lives in Moscow so we put Jerusalem embassy on the i29F since the line is much shorter then Warsaw.

I’ve seen that letter before here, as far as I know it won’t go directly to the consulate. You will need to expedite at NVC/consulate stage as well. That’s how it usually works. Calling USCIS is a gamble, the amount of inaccurate information they gave out here is… a lot.

They automatically send the case to where she put her physical address (this case Moscow > Poland consulate). They do not look at what you put in the consulate section in I-129F. This is from my personal and others on here experience. You will need to change to consulate location at NVC and provide proof of citizenship/residency of the country you want to transfer to.

Any idea how to change this since the NVC phones are closed? I sent them an email weeks ago with no luck

It can only be done through the public inquiry form on NVC website. Right now they’re reviewing inquiries received on April 7.

As of 31-MAY-2022, we are responding to inquiries received on 7-APR-2022. We will update this information every week. We ask that you make a subsequent inquiry only if you do not receive a response to your email within our published timeframe above. Duplicate inquiries slow our ability to respond to you in a timely manner.”

Also, they need to first receive your case from USCIS which takes about 4 weeks before they can make any changes.

Current case creation time frame: As of 31-MAY-2022, we are working on cases that were received from USCIS on 16-MAY-2022.

My NOA2 approval notice(6.May.2022) says the exact same thing. No mention of NVC. I reached out both to my local consulate/embassy(Bahrain) and my attorney for clarification, both said it still likely means it is going to the NVC. Super frustrating until you can get the NVC case number via welcome letter or email.

I think you have just verified that the approval letter wording has been changed and is inaccurate.  I have never seen a K-1 case go straight from USCIS to a consulate.  K-1s are already expedited through NVCNVC just assigns a DOS number, then sends the case to the consulate when there is availability.
