Different questions on Mother vs Father form Ds-160

Hello VJ members,

Bit confused while filling out my parent's DS-160.

For my dad's application, I put as 'Retired' on occupation and provided his previous employer. And while going through form,  it didn't ask about if my dad has been to any countries in last  5 years. But while I was filling out for my mom's, I put her as a 'Homemaker' and form asked If she has been outside of country in last 5 years?

is that expected? Both of my parents have been outside the country in last 5 years, just wanted to get some opinions out here.

Anyone in forum have some ideas?

I have seen that the  DS 160 and 260 forms will ask different questions based on answers  to previous questions. Answer honestly and answer what is asked

The DS-160 is an interactive form that will provide different questions based on how initial questions in a category are anawered.  For example, when asked the purpose of your trip, if you answer "student" you will get far different subsequent questions than if you say "visitor".  Same thing with other categories.

Normal.  As others said, the DS-160 may ask different questions depending on the answers in previous sections.  Same thing happened when my mom (also retired) and I applied for our B2 visas.
