Just recieved an interview date for N-400 although we haven't heard anyting on ROC. From people's experience will they just do a dual interview and adjudicate I-751 before the N-400?  Finally!

What documents should we bring from other's experiences? I submitted a ton of stuff online.

It can go either way, tbh. Your i-751 could still be stuck somewhere so the officer can't approve it. They can still allow you to have your N-400 interview and you can pass it, but they still need to approve the i-751 first before you can get an oath ceremony.

We have seen cases here on VJ where:

1. The person was sent home again and had their N-400 interview rescheduled because the field office didn't receive the I-751 yet.

2. The person was allowed to go through with the N-400 interview despite having a "missing" i-751, which would delay the N-400 approval of course but at least the interview and test were conducted so no more interviews needed.

3. Both cases were available to the officer and the person had a combo interview.

Scenario 1 seems rare these days, seems like the officers are more up to speed now and know they can still go through with the N-400 interview even without the I-751.

The more you submit online, the less you need to bring. I submitted new stuff almost every month my N-400 was pending, at the interview I wasn't asked for any "evidence of marriage" at all. I did however tell the IO that we had just filed our taxes and that I had brought the whole return with me, so she decided to scan the whole tax return. Other than that, all she wanted to see was greencard, two of my three passports and my drivers license.

It's always a good idea to bring the originals of every "important" document, such as birth certificate with translation, marriage certificate etc. I had also brought my USC husband's BC and passport, but she didn't want any of it.

Absolutely, that would be the absolute best outcome. Crossing my fingers!

If you can call and try to get a hold of a Tier 2 they may be able to tell you where your i-751 is located atm. Maybe they can even put in a request to have it transferred if it's stuck somewhere.

We recieved a call today from USCIS and said we would be doing a combo interview this Thursday. Thank goodness. So hopefully all goes well and my wife will get her citizenship this week!

BTW did you bring all of your documents with you to your ROC/MN400 interview? I submitted everything online, however USCIS emailed me a letter saying to provide all documents to support a bonafide relationship. Should I just print everything to be on the safeside? Or would you call it a day knowing they have all documents already in my file?

I didn't have a pending i-751 so I'm not sure what to do about that, the i-751 obviously requires a ton of evidence. If it was me I wouldn't bring anything I had already sent before, and like you said, you have a ton in your online account already. Maybe grab some new stuff they haven't seen.

I uploaded stuff every month my N-400 was pending, so she never asked for anything else at the actual interview other than my latest tax return (we had just filed our taxes a couple of days prior to my interview, so the transcript wasn't available yet, she actually scanned in my whole tax return which was like 75 pages or so).

I had brought all originals of the important documents (marriage certificate, me AND hubby's birth certificates, all my three passports and my husband's passport etc). But other than the latest tax return, she only wanted to see two of my three passports and my drivers license. No evidence or anything (but my online account was FULL of evidence, so she basically already had it all).

We brought everything we filed, just updated or current versions of it to show continuation of everything originally submitted.

also ALL originals of our documents we  submitted with the I-751 packet.

I'm really tempted to only bring the "new" documents since we filed? This would cover a year worth of information. What do you think?

I brought the originals of what we filed in originally in 2019.  Then we brought additional items that happened after filing til interview. Documents to cover the 24 months while waiting for the interview.

Like tax returns from the time we waited for interview.  Quarterly bank statements, and a few other bills.  Not an entire duplicate of what we submitted in 2019.

For us, the only originals he asked for was our drivers license and original marriage certificate.

then he asked if we had any additional documents we’d like to submit. That’s when we handed over our newer or most recent ITR’s and some insurance documents.

We received a call from USCIS 2 days prior to the N-400 interview. The officer told us they would conduct a combo I-751/N-400 interview. They confirmed the date and emailed us a letter with documentation to bring with us. Basically the letter said to bring everything. So the call was out of the blue, but appreciated.

Our I-751 was transferred to our local office but no update after that. Then we received an interview date for N-400. Just so happens we needed a new I-551 stamp in her passport so we scheduled an info pass and when we went for the stamp we asked if they would be conducting a combo interview. The officer put a note in the system and said they would have to adjudicate the I-751 before approving the N-400. Hoping all goes well tomorrow.
