Hi..

I'm wondering how this question should be answered? Is it just a short statement of how I met my fiance, or can I add additional stuff of how our ongoing relationship is. Does it have to have details or just simple and cut to the chase?

Thanks!

Our Timeline

-----------------------------------

January '04: met in the USA

July 16 2007 : sent the I-129F

July 18, 2007: received by CCS

How you met in person, one paragraph is enough, though if you need more room you can attach a separate sheet. I attached an extra sheet with the evidence of the meeting.

You can make it short and simple. I think ours was only 2 or 3 sentences. We didn't have an RFEs.

It's all a matter of what you want to say. I wrote a sentence, in the small space provided. Some though attach a seperate sheet of paper. I wrote that I met him through a friend and then traveled to Ghana to meet him in person. There was never a problem with what I wrote.

Bee submitted an additional statement with our petition, though he only did a paragraph to explain how we met.

Nini - Vancouver BC, Canada (she's the one who does the forum thing)

Bee - Devon PA, USA (he's the one who gave her the shiny ring)

Getting our sanity tested by bureaucracy since 2007.

Here we go again...

Hello Studentinlove

Question 18 can be answer with a simple sentence but it is also a opportunity to show in the application that the relationship is real. It does not have to be long but a simple paragraph included on a separate sheet in the application. For example:

" I traveled to Colombia in May of 2006 and met Maria while visiting Cali. I immediately felt a connection and I spent most of my vaction with her. When I returned to the USA we talked for many hours on the phone and exchanged many emails. I have since been to Colombia three times to see her. I feel she is wonderful and beautiful person. We are in love and I plan to marry her and spend our life together."

Also get your butt over to 'The Foreign embassy and Consulate general discussion' forum and join ' The Colombia Club' The information is excellent!

I wrote a few paragraphs. The first was how we initally met through work, second paragraph I detailed the first time we met in person, and last paragraph I summarized the 5 other times we met, what we did each time. I figfured this would show the 1.5 yr courtship.

Good Luck to you !!

Hi and welcome to the VJ'rs!!!

1) Please fill out your timeline...it helps us to understand where you are in the process so we can better help you. And, ultimately it helps us and those who come after you!!

2) I agree with TonyS...it does not have to be a litany of everything and everywhere you went together. A paragraph should suffice. We put two pages of photos with inscriptions beneath them about when, where, who, what, why and how. Also, I felt that it was important NOT to just show photos of just US...the photos included family members, friends and in front of signs in Colombia that showed where we visited!! The photos with family are particularly important...they show that it is not just you and your fiance/wife...but a family joining together.

3) Have you read the "GUIDES" section at the top of the page? It provides a lot of help for everyone and details the process.

4) Join the "Colombia Club" forum and you will see information specific to us with Colombianas in our lives. (Colombianos too) (L)

Sincerely,
