My case is currently in Abu Dhabi. It's an Ir1 visa and I have been DQ'd since October of 2020. For Iraqis and non residents the UAE has been pretty slow. Turkey apparently wont let Iraqis get residency with the new visa they began to issue. For that reason I am considering getting residency and switching my case to Amman, Jordan. The question is, is it worth it? What are the timelines looking like and how long have you guys been waiting.

Thanks

if it is at Abu Dhabi,  u should have interview scheduled as IR1 are scheduled between NVC and embassy

i wouldn't think to move it but understand i (and most of us) am not there

we really don't know the atmosphere of the embassy and country

we only know what we see from US news and our news media is poor

I am a fiance visa (K1) I have contacted the NVC and was told that for Iraqis they can choose one of three embassies to go to. they told me once I choose the embassy I want my case to go to, they will change the case number and send my case.

Did you guys hear anything about that. did NVC assign your case to Abu Dhabi? does case number for Iraqis start with the BGH or something else.

They will automatically assign u to Baghdad (BGH) but since the embassy is closed they will automatically reassign you to one of 3 countries that they have an agreement with Qatar, UAE or Bahrain (I think these are the three). If u want another embassy you have to ask permission from that particular embassy.
