I've heard of interviews going from 2 to 30 minutes in length. I expect you want to know how long your loved one will be at the Consulate before you hear about the result. If I were you, I would be prepared for the process to take all morning local time. Generally all appointments for visa interviews done by the IV section are for the same time of day, so don't think of it as an "appointment" but rather a "date".

We had two VJers approved in Bogotá and they gave every single detail of their ordeal.

The interview itself takes about 5 minutes unless you have a complicated case. But the whole thing can last from 6AM-12PM.

Hi Bill & Lesly,

Quite a number of VJ'rs have been through the interview process. And, some have even posted the questions that they were asked during the interview. I recommend that you read through the postings to get an idea of what you and your fiance/wife could be asked.

But, I would not stress out about the interview. Relax and be yourselves! Common interview times range from 5 minutes to 20 - 30 minutes. Remember, there are a lot of people behind you in line. Go up for the interview with confidence and honesty and you will be fine.
