My case will go to ISLAMABAD embassy. So I got married in jan 2020 , my husband (petitioner) was LPR at that time. PD is dec 2020. In august’21 my husband became citizen and my case approved in nov 2021.

So my husband’s right arm doesn’t function (he has a disability), there is only small movement but not enough to support him. He used only his left hand for all the work(even driving). So you can imagine that life is already a big challenge for him. It has been so since birth and I married him knowing that. We studied in same school and after 10 years he confessed his liking for me and I also liked him, he is a sweetheart and we decided to marry.

Now my husband has his mom and two sisters with him living in US. One of the sisters lives in another state doing PhD and the other one lives with my husband and also does job. Their mother is 65+ and although she doesn’t have serious illness but she’s diabetic and has severe knee problems, which means frequent doctor appointments.

Our case in pending DQ from NVC (we uploaded our documents on nov 30 and dec 3 2021) and we have had enough of this of long distance. I mean its seriously mentally and physically breaking us down. My husband can’t come here because he’s running house, does all the chores, and is also studying for masters online.

I want to expedite  our case (for interview as ISLAMABAD embassy is scheduling interviews for IR1 after 10 to 14 months once DQ is done)  on the grounds that my husband physically needs me to be there as his support, I love him dearly and I want to help him in doing the chores, taking care of him aging mother, drive around and financially support him. Is this possible? I mean I do not have evidence of serious illness (mother or him), any financial loss or physical problem.
All these responsibilities are driving my husband insane and it is effecting our relationship. Due to time difference we aren’t able to talk much on call. I don’t want that :’(. Last time we fought so much he told me to divorce because he was so frustrated of not being able to meet me. He later apologized and we patched up.

should this reason be enough to expedite that my husband has a disability and life is getting difficult for him ?

It would be hard for anyone here to say if this would be enough to expedite your interview, but based on your story and comparing that to the information on Travel.state.gov, it seems unlikely as this does not appear life or death, and your husband does have support.  That being said, it does not hurt to try, you will need some evidence from a Dr. or medical facility.   It seems your case is still at the NVC stage, so you would request the expedite there first.

Good Luck!

I have been waiting for a very long time for my relative to get an immigrant visa. Now there is a family emergency and I need my relative to immigrate soon to the U.S. Can NVC help me?

If a visa is available for your relative’s category, and their case involves a life or death medical emergency, processing of your case may be expedited. To request a review for expedite, please submit a scanned letter (or statement) to NVCExpedite@state.gov from a physician (or medical facility). The letter must include the physician’s (or medical facility’s) contact information, and declare a life or death medical emergency exists.

Please make sure to include your case or receipt number on the subject line along with at least one of the of the following:

  • Petitioner’s name and date of birth
  • Beneficiary’s name and date of birth
  • Invoice ID number

If a visa is not available, unfortunately there is nothing that NVC can do to expedite the petition. Immigrant visa processing is governed by the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952, as amended, which controls availability of visas. There is no provision within the law that would allow the Department of State to issue a visa to someone for whom a visa is unavailable.

I don't see an expedite being given.

"He has lived like that and has been fine all along. So, how come it is at this moment when immigration is involved that things seem to change?" That's the question you'll likely be asked. So, NO expedite, unfortunately.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.
