Parents arriving Thursday- entry questions

Hi everyone 

 

my parents arrive on their IR5 visa. We did everything electronically so they don’t have a “packet” just their passports - does that sound correct?

 

also we are somewhat confused about the COVID entry requirements- they were vaccinated and have had the booster a while ago so that’s covered but  they need the negative test. They are booked in with Lloyds for the rapid antigen test and certificate - all the reading I’ve done has indicated that it’s accepted for travel (Fit to fly) but now someone has told my mum that it needs to be the PCP? Anyone have any insight?

 

Anyones advice is much appreciated

This might be helpful.  My reading of this show the antigen test is acceptable.

You must be tested with a viral test to look for current infection – these include an antigen test or a nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT).

Phrases indicating a test is an antigen test could include, but not are not limited to:

• Rapid antigen test
• Viral antigen test
• Also, could be noted as Antigen Chromatographic Digital Immunoassay, Antigen Chemiluminescence Immunoassay, or Antigen Lateral Flow Fluorescence

Examples of available NAATs for SARS-CoV-2 include but are not restricted to:

• Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR)
• Isothermal amplification including:
  • Nicking endonuclease amplification reaction (NEAR)
  • Transcription mediated amplification (TMA)
  • Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP)
  • Helicase-dependent amplification (HDA)
  • Clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)

I think rapid ANTIGEN tests are OK.  Make sure they get the test done one day before departure.

yes,  no packet for many countries  /  all information is on computers

its a good idea to have the record of all vaccinations for them / USCIS will have it on computers from the medical

but main GP here will want to know what vaccines and dates of them when they get established with  one
