Process to show you do NOT intend to abandon Green Card

I'm in the US military in and currently live in South Korea with my spouse.  My spouse is korean and has her Green Card.

We have been out of the US since the pandemic started, and got an approved extension on 15 Jan 2021 for another 12 months.  We do NOT want to abandon her green card and will return to the US in August 2022.  However, we are coming up on 12 months again outside the US.  What legal options do we have to keep her green card current or active so that she is not shown to have abandoned her green card?  Embassy?  It seems with COVID we cannot be the only ones facing  this issue, returning to the us a few days is an option, however we (she) would have to quarantine when she returns (14 days), tough pill to swallow for her work...   Any one had any luck with a situation like this or any experience with something like this?

Thanks

Are you on military orders for Korea and more importantly is she on the orders? If so she is considered to be inside the US and is not accruing time outside the US.

Quarantine in Korea is 10 days now. If you had traveled before this new ban she would've only had a 2 day quarantine (but live and learn).

Your wife can fly to Guam for a day or two and then return to Korea (as long as she is fully vaccinated and gets a covid test the day before she flies).

This will allow her to stay outside the country for another 6 months.

What type of work does she do? Is she working on base or does she work for a Korean company?

Is it possible for her to quit her job? As she is a Korean citizen she will be allowed to stay in Korea with no issues and hopefully your salary will be enough until you leave in August 2022.
