Hi, I just wanted to share my I-130 experience here. We hired an attorney for I-130 ( I'm a spouse of a US citizen) and i'm also doing the i601-A Provisional Unlawful Presence waiver, and here's my timeline so far:

1)  Submitted the I-130 on May 26, 2021

2)  Received receipt on June 10,2021

3)  Approval received July 11,2021, only 31 days after the receipt notice! Service center was Nebraska office and during the application the time frame for approval was 3-7 months so we just got super lucky, we did not request expedited service.

SECOND PART IS THE WAIVER: - Submitted the I-601A Waiver on October 6,2021 - Receipt date October 11,2021, Field office is at Potomac Service Center (estimated time 29 to 36 months) ------UPDATES TO FOLLOW)

--->> I think the approval process depends on which service center your case got assigned. You can check the USCIS processing time feature and see if you're within the timeframe of that particular service center. Each service center differs, some takes only about 3-7 months and others takes a year or more.

Mine was Nebraska service centre and as per USCIS it should take 3-7 months, i tried to create a complaint on the website, when submitted a message appeared saying my case is within the time frame which is so wrong!!!

You are doing this with Egypt as the country so yes,  a year is within the normal range

much of this is dependent on names of the beneficiries as the common names are used over and over / not only the given name but the family name

all has to be checked out

and i had Nebraska and mine was there 10 months (pre covid) and then transferred to Missouri for faster processing (another 6 months)

Oh wow! You're right your case shouldn't take that long. But I think you made the right move which is to create a case inquiry because it's obviously not within their processing time frames!!!

Any processing updates  from Jan/Feb 2021 filers here??

So far this is my timeline:

Filed i-130 online Feb 9th 2021 for my spouse (we both currently live in NZ - his home country)

Received NOA1 immediately online with receipt from Nebraska Service Center

Found out later my case was actually at Texas Service Center via AskEmma Live Chat rep

Status changed online to 'being actively reviewed' on April 9th 2021

No updates since... still waiting waiting waiting.

Are you sure your case is being processed at Nebraska Service Center? I also thought mine was in Nebraska but found out later it was in Texas. Perhaps it's somewhere else with a longer processing time which is why USCIS won't let you inquire yet?

I saw a thread on VJ saying that all applications submitted online received a Nebraska receipt but are often transferred elsewhere... because of this I decided to connect with a live agent via AskEmma on USCIS website and they confirmed for me it was at Texas, not Nebraska.

I am so sorry, yes you are right as i sent to USCIS to inquire they replied that my case was moved to TEXAS service center in which it takes slightly longer time than Nebraska so its expected to hear an update during the coming weeks, Thanks for sharing your experience 😊
