Hello

My brother's fiance's K1-Visa Interview date has been confirmed. She had to select it on her own and had to finish the DS-160 form. Now she is doing her medical or setting up appointment for that and then the interview. My question is the following: the I-134 form has to be done by my brother, should he sign and send a copy or should he mail the original form? Will copy be okay? What about the tax returns, W2 and his paystub? Should he send those as copies too? For the paystubs, how recent should they be? last 3 months is good? or one month is okay? She is in Pakistan.

Also does she need a police certificate for Pakistan? I know she doesn't need one if it was a CR-1 visa but not sure about the K1

Thanks in advance.

Copies are fine, unless consulate specifically requests originals. It’s rare but some consulates do.

She should have received instructions for that. If it’s not specified I’d go with 3 months to be safe.

It’s the same for both K1 and CR1. Prepare for lengthy AP after the interview

It’s more likely they don’t require originals because it’s really rare when they do. I’ve only seen that once on this forum for a country in Africa, can’t remember which one exactly.

Regarding AP, it’s hard to predict. Could be few weeks, few months or years. It’s usually few weeks, but you never know. I personally know someone who is in AP for 7 months now going through Islamabad consulate.

Since pakistan doesn't  have a centerlized police report system, that is why its not needed ,and  unfortunately  most people go to extended  back ground  checks because  of this.

No it was approved  , but after that  it's  never ending process ,like AOS , work permit advance  parole  ,social security  card. If you  just  apply  for CR1 which  is spousal  visa ,you have to do nothing mentioned  above.

Oh wow...how long did that take you? I didn't see your timeline so it would be nice to know the time length for all this.

She doesn't have to worry about work coz my brother earns well but other stuff is needed so it would be nice to know.

I have a follow up question from the petitioner's side.

In 2016 my brother was a co-sponsor for my husband's cr-1 visa. Should he mention that in the form i-134?

Also he has not mentioned anything about his bank account as he doesn't need to but does he still need provide his bank statements or paystubs are okay?
