Renewing EAD/AP combo card (K1 to spouse AOS)

My husband’s current EAD/AP combo card expires at the end of December 2021. We had our AOS interview end of April 2021 and still haven’t received a decision. We were waiting to renew combo card as we were hoping to hear back on the green card before combo card expires, but now it’s cutting it close so we are applying to renew. The work permit can now apparently be filed online, any experience with this vs paper app? To renew work permit and travel permit, I know we need to resubmit applications as well as copies of NOAs and proof our I-485 is still pending. Are we required to also send all of the original supporting documents (passport photos, I-94 etc)? It’s my understanding that we will just get a receipt extending another 180 days, is this correct or should we expect another, updated combo card? Thank you for any tips!

Only some categories can be filed online. C09 is not one of them. You still need to send them by mail.
