My wife and I have everything ready to submit our online I-130 but I am struggling to really be sure what address to list as my current mailing address. All of my US based mail comes to my mother's house in the USA so certainly I can list that and she will receive it. However, it won't be much use to me if there is something I need to do with the mail since I haven't been there in nearly 2 years. If it will only be communication (which my mother can pass along to me) and I won't need to physically have said documents then that's fine. Otherwise, should I list my physical address in China?

Thanks for the advice on this. We want to get it right and also relocate to the US as quickly as possible.

Where do u intend to live in US when u get the visa?

If you have US bank account and DL with mother's address and will use that as domcile for US,  put her address

and give a good email as after the original I 797 notice comes in mail ,  the other notices will come in your email

Initially we will live with my mother while we house shop, so yes that would be our intended domicile. My bank account, credit cards, and driver's license are all that address as well. Thanks!

Your physical address is in China. List it as such.

Obviously, that physical address will be listed elsewhere (as my most recent and current address), but the first address on the form is specifically for a mailing address which also has an option to indicate that you do not live at that address.

Oddly, there is no real place to list a current physical address that is different than the mailing address. That is, in the further addresses the online system does not allow you to list an address with an end date of “PRESENT” so it can only be listed up until the current date. The I-130a doesn’t have this issue.
