    My wife had her visa interview in Guangzhou on Monday. Everything went smoothly and she was approved! Just waiting on that passport now.

    Status update: DQ - August 19 Letter - September 30 Interview - November 7

    Happy to add us to the list! DQ'd August 19 and received the interview letter September 30. The interview is November 7 in Guangzhou.

    One thing I can tell you is that we were DQ'd on August 19 and still haven't heard anything from the consulate. Don't expect it to happen quickly. I will be sure to let you know once we get our interview letter.

    You're at Guangzhou, right? We were DQ'ed 8/19 so that gives me a good idea what to expect.

    I hope so! They seem to be working through a lot of cases from that time period at the moment.

    They should have a website. I found mine and they had a local office in my city. I called and spoke to someone on their staff and explained the situation, then they e-mailed authorization forms which I filled out to grant them permission to speak to USCIS about my case. I don't know that it helped, but they did let me know once they sent USCIS a request and then notified me that it had been forwarded to the visa unit at Guangzhou consulate, so it might have sped things up!

    Yes, I am a US citizen. I also reached out to my US state representative but I don't have any way to know if that helped.

    Shocking! I just received the approval notice! September 21 NOA1, and NOA2 date May 17!

    I filed for my wife the same day, September 21. Same day response from Nebraska but it has apparently always been at Texas. AR was February 22 for us. Nothing since then.

    But not actually "late" until 14 months...

    I didn't. Clearly that makes a big difference but I wasn't aware of it being an option until about a month ago. I wish I had known sooner.

    Wow, that's crazy. We filed almost a month earlier, you are almost finished, and we haven't made any progress that entire time. It's almost like they just go grab a random file from the stack.

    Not gonna lie, I'm super jealous. God I hate the Texas service center.

    No updates here. Honestly I've given up and don't expect to be home until next summer.
