Drivers License Renewal with I-797 Receipt for L2 I539 and/or I765

I am having great difficulty finding an answer to this and I believe it must be a common situation with these long processing times.

I am in Texas where the DMV will abide by SAVE case checks and nothing else, there are no temporary licenses in Texas and Real ID is the only license provided.

Situation is; I have my I-797C NOA receipts for both the I539 extension and I765 EAD extension - both are processing and will be well in to 2022 before approved. My drivers license expires Sept 1, 2021 based on the expiration date of my current I-94, visa and EAD.

I desperately need to renew my drivers license!!

Has anyone been approved with SAVE based on receipts rather than approvals?

I-539 for L2 does NOT qualify for the automatic 180 day extension and I have a feeling that is where the grey area lies.

I called USCIS and the agent did not know what SAVE is and basically provided canned responses.

HELP!!!

It seems Texas does accept i797 with pending i539.

Applicants for extension of status, change of status, petition for non- immigrant worker, with a pending I-918 application, or other pending category.

Immigration documentation with an alien number or I-94 number
This can include but is not limited to a form I-797 indicating a pending application for an extension of status, change of status, petition for non- immigrant worker, or other pending category.
