Congratulations on your approval!

Although I am not there yet, I can understand your thoughts here. I wonder if I’m expecting too much in wanting the same too. A 10 year GC to avoid the ROC scenario. I know I will be happy to get my GC!

After filing in October 2021, with my biometrics appointment the following month, I was able to get my EAD and SSN in April this year. Radio silence since. Until December 9th when my I-130 went into “your case is being actively reviewed” for the second time since November 2021🤷🏿‍♀️

Hi there,

It means your greencard approval is coming soon! That I-130 message that I got in December kicked off the approval of I-485 a few days later. We got the I-130 approved on Dec 14 and 2 days later the I-485.

If you don't hear back from USCIS, contact your Senator or Congressman/woman. Just a background, the I-130 which was filed back in June 2021 did not move for 17 months. No RFE or anything. My husband contacted Sen Cortez-Masto back in October and signed a Privacy Release Form to inquire on his behalf regarding that I-130. We did not hear from the Senator's office as understandably she was trying to win a re-election. We did not follow up as she was trailing in the polls and we thought she would lose. After she had won, her staff got to work right away and nudge USCIS. Then my husband got the call from the Senator's office telling him that "his greencard was approved". My husband and I just laughed because we knew that we only inquired on I-130 with the Senator's office and my husband is a USC so it was funny that he was being told that "his greencard was approved". The next day, I got the message on USCIS portal that the greencard was approved. I guess the Senator's nudge on I-130 triggered another nudge on I-485 which we did not ask the Senator's office to inquire.
