I130 better to do online or by mail

What's your experience in terms of processing times, convenience?

Was uploading evidence online better than mailing it to them.

For i485, i131, etc do you have to wait for NOA from submitting i130 online before mailing?

Do you need to do i130 first (if doing online) before mailing the other necessary forms?

TIA.

In this situation it makes no difference which way you go.  To keep things simple,  I would do everything by paper.   If you decide to go electronic,  the i130 must be filed first.

YMMV

@Djean There are people who filed the I-130 online and USCIS approved it within 1.5 months to 3 months. The I-130 does not grant you lawful presence, though. The only advantage is that you would get to your AOS interview knowing that USCIS already vetted your relationship.

If you take the online route, you would do the I-130 and I-130A online and would upload all the necessary evidence there (including evidence of bona fide marriage). I believe you get a receipt notice online either right away or within day or two. You would print that and attach it to your AOS filing. That way they would know it is a concurrent filing.

I-751 Joint Filing.

06-15-2021 - Case was updated to show fingerprints were taken.

05-26-2021 - Received NOA/extension letter. Notice date and postmarked 05-20-2021.

05-23-2021 - Received text message with Receipt #. YSC Potomac Center.

05-21-2021 - Checks cashed (processing on joint checking account)

05-07-2021 - I-751 received in Arizona.

Marriage-based AOS - Concurrent filing.

05-07-2019 - AOS Approved. Resident since date 05/07/2019.

05-06-2019 - AOS Interview

04-23-2018 - "Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview"

03-16-2018 - Priority Date.

I submitted my I-130 and I-130A online on 09/24/2021, got the PDF receipt the next day and attached it with my i-485 package.

I scanned and uploaded all the evidences I had at that time, and added some more later on as the system allows us to do that.

IMO, filing online can be more convenient in term of filing as it fast and easy, just answer all the questions. but for the processing time, I'm not sure.

I got my i-130 approval today but still waiting until forever for i-485 as my field office Houston is super slow.
