Hi everybody! I sent my rfe response via usps overnight delivery. The tracking number showed it was delivered next day as expected. Now it has been 8 days since it was supposedly delivered, but when I go online to check my status, it still says “request for initial evidence was sent”. I’m so worried now, is it normal for them not to update the status for so long ? Or can it be lost ? Did anybody here have the same situation ? Any input will be appreciated !!🙏🏻

Mine was updated within a day or so, maybe call them and ask them. Did you put in a cover letter?

Thank you so much for a reply, although it’s not what I was hoping to hear of course. I called their customer service 3 days ago, unfortunately it was not very helpful, they said it’s not possible to tell if they received it or not, but said it wasn’t in their system. The lady I spoke to said they are understaffed because of covid and that they receive tonns of mail and maybe it’s just laying there

And no, I didn’t submit a cover letter, I sent in the documents requested and included the notice they sent me

During my N400 interview I was asked to show tax transcripts which I didn’t have. I only had the 1040 forms which I thought was enough. So I was asked to get the transcripts and send them in. Then turned out I had some problems with my tax returns, it took me more than a month just to get those transcripts sent to me.

Long story short I sent in the RFE response after the due date. I’m hoping it’s ok since the covid rule should be still in effect. ( it says on the website that they will accept documents 60 days after due date).

What do you mean by problem with tax returns?

do you have any unpaid taxes?

There is still no status update, and no answer. But I called USCIS customer service yesterday and was told that they got my response and they will reply within 60 days of receiving it.

I hope you get your approval fast. I'm on the same boat waiting for approval, sent my evidence but nothing yet.

What was your RFE about?

To send a payment agreement with the IRS, I owe some money and was making payments without it, the official said that, while it looked good, they still need a formal plan signed between me and the IRS. I submitted the document by the next day thru the portal and got the received notice, also the case completion is 6 months. I hope it doesn't take that long. :(

I'm on the same page with you. I sent my IRS transcript online thru my.uscis.gov. My status has changed to "Response To USCIS' Request For Evidence Was Received. USCIS has begun working on your case again. We will send you a decision or notify you if we need something from you."

I'm wondering how long will it take to process it?
