Naturalization and citizenship for current serving active duty

Hello!

I'm an active duty service member in the US Navy. I finished boot camp in the last month and I'm in A-School right now. My RDC in boot camp told me that I'd be able to get citizenship straight out of boot camp in A-School but no one here seems able to assist me. This website has always helped me out in times when I am confused so I am here asking. The only answer I was able to get was from legal where I asked and they said the year requirement is waived because we are technically in a time of war still with GWOT. That is all I got. I have done immigration forms by myself my entire life but I just need addition guidance on filling it out right now.

It seems you would fall under the exception based on the eligibility to file the N400 (serving in the armed forces on or after September 11, 2001 see link below fifth category on page 2).  Based on the instructions and required documentation for the N400, you would need to also fill out the N426 and include a copy of your current military orders.

Good Luck!
